AI Credits
CoachGPT runs on credits. Most generations — a check-in recommendation, a client progress summary, or a meal plan draft — use one credit. An exercise program draft uses three credits, because its AI output is much larger.
You get credits two ways:
- A monthly allowance based on your plan, which resets each month.
- Bonus credits earned by referring other coaches, which don’t expire monthly.

CoachGPT is available on every plan, including Free — the Free tier includes 3 credits each month. Earned bonus credits stack on top and are used after the monthly allowance.
Bonus credits
When you refer another coach and they sign up and pay their first month, you both receive bonus credits. Bonus credits:
- Don’t reset monthly — they carry over until used.
- Are spent after your monthly allowance is used up.
- Work on any plan, including Free.

How credits are counted
Credits are used when you click Generate on a CoachGPT tool. Most tools cost one credit per generation, regardless of how long the response is. An exercise program draft costs three credits — its AI output is far larger than the other tools. Each tool shows its cost before you generate.
If a generation fails partway through (network or model error), the credits are rolled back — they don’t count.
When the monthly allowance resets
The monthly allowance is calendar-month based, UTC. On the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC, your monthly usage resets to your full quota. Bonus credits are unaffected by the reset.
For coaches in US timezones, the reset lands late on the last day of the month — 8 PM Eastern, 5 PM Pacific.
Where to see your balance
The coin in the header shows your remaining credits at a glance, and its color reflects how many are left. Tap it for a breakdown of monthly versus bonus credits. Each generation card also shows the credits remaining after you generate.
What happens when you run out
When both your monthly allowance and bonus credits are gone, the Generate button shows “CoachGPT monthly limit reached.” Your clients’ data is unaffected — you can still review and work manually.
Getting more credits
- Upgrade your plan from Settings → Billing to raise your monthly allowance. Upgrades take effect immediately.
- Buy a credit pack from Settings → Billing (web/desktop) for a one-time top-up that never expires. Pack credits are used after your monthly allowance.
- Refer a coach to earn bonus credits.
